Tim Walsh - PDGA # 11047
Tim Walsh Stats
Aces: 10
Year Born: 1972 Year Started Discing: 1993 Year Turned Pro: 1996 | Vibram in the bagI carry three, Ascent, Ridge and Summit. The Ascent for me is a very consistent fairway driver. I love it for its very predictable flight. I am not trying to bomb this driver just let it navigate the fairway staying true to the line it is on. The Ridge is my 'driving' putter. When I need a putter off the tee, the Ridge is it! My Summit is my go to putter. Very controllable for a variety of puts.
Disc golf tips and advicePractice and play catch more than you play rounds. Cheer and root for fellow players, it will come back to you. However challenging a thought, I believe I am always beating the course not the individual. Make time to enjoy the beauty of the flight of a well thrown disc. Breathe.

In the beginning...Just three college friends and I (forever known as 'the original foursome') would go out and play golf at East Campus, the adventure course off the main campus at Springfield College. At one point we had built a tire basket. We would flip a discs at hole one to see who would lug the basket down to hole one's placement. Whoever lost the hole had to carry that 'tank' of a basket to the next hole. I still can't believe we did that for 18 holes day in and day out. For a number of months, maybe a year, we just played with our ultimate discs. One day we actually found a 'miniature' orange disc, worn down with an illegible stamp. At this point we still thought we had invented this game (1993:)). We really had no idea it was a golf disc. We quickly discovered it flew way farther the our lids. New Rule! Whoever wins the hole gets the orange miniature disc for the next hole. At the time the name on the underside of the disc did not mean anything to us, just some unfortunate sole had maybe lost his dogs disc on a walk in the woods. Nope. Years later and to this day I consider my self fortunate to be good friends with the owner of that disc ...Legend, Davis Johnson.

Tim Walsh wins Disc Jam
6/19/11 - After being up by two strokes going into the final round, Team Vibram's Tim Walsh stepped up to the plate and accepted the challenge of holding off his competitors. Not only did Tim succeed in securing the victory, he did so with a new course record at the Hyland Orchard course.

Thanks to Tony Scavone for putting on a heck of a show. It looked like the hundreds (or was it thousands) of attendees had a great time.
Can't wait to see the Disc Jam 2012 style!

Tim Walsh and Whitey heat it up!2/5/11 - The West Thompson Ice Bowl (raising money for the Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group) was the scene of the most recent Team Vibram victory. Team Vibram's Tim Walsh joined forces with Whitey (Justin White to his mom) and won in a one hole playoff against Rob Tatro and Billy Dunne.
TD Steve Dakai said that Rick Rothstein thinks they might have broken a record for number of inches of snow on the ground during an ice bowl. With parts of Connecticut getting over five feet of snow (so far) in 2011, I don't doubt it! Nice win Timmmay! |
