As a manufacturer of golf discs, it is important to continually push the sport forward. This is not a time to retract or pull in or grab profits, our sport is on the precipice of truly taking off and becoming a main stream sport. It is time to put up or shut up. Vibram Disc Golf is proud to help put some of the pieces in place. It is time to blow the roof off this sport! PDGA National Tour Elite Series

_The 2012 PDGA National Tour will feature the top players in the Men’s and Women’s Open divisions as they compete in the fourth annual “Drive for the Championship”. The “Drive” will consist of the first five National Tour Elite Series events plus the series finale Vibram Open.

The 2012 National Tour Elite Series will consist of six events held across the country starting with the Memorial in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 29 - March 3 and ending with the Vibram Open at Maple Hill in Leicester, Massachusetts on August 16-19. Points will be awarded based on a competitor’s order of finish in an individual event per the table below.

Series points from a player’s top three National Tour finishes from the first five events plus the points from the Vibram Open will determine the 2012 PDGA Tour Series Champion.

Vibram Open

__The Vibram Open is proud to be the PDGA National Tour crowning event and is  recognized as one of the most coveted titles in all of disc golf.

Check out the new offerings for the 2012 Vibram Open --->
  • Raising the stakes. A smaller MPO field, with a larger MPO payout. We will be limiting the MPO field to 144 players (down from 160) while maintaining the cut line at 72 players. This makes the cut at 50%, which just feels right. Additionally, we will be raising the MPO payout from $41,000 to $45,000.
  • Year of the women. A $10,000 FPO payout and a larger FPO field. The women's payout is going from $8,300 to $10,000! We will allow any and all women that would like to play to come and compete. The women's cut will be 15 players. We want this to be the largest Pro Women's field ever assembled.
  • Four rounds, cut after three. We will be adding a fourth round this year. As the PDGA National Tour crowning event, it seems only fitting to increase the event to the traditional four rounds over four days. This also gives players vying to make the cut one more round to recover from that triple circle nine.
  • VibrAM Open. We will be introducing a three day, four round concurrent Amateur event. Tentative (did I say tentative?) plans are for this event to be played on a separate local course with two rounds on Friday, one round on Saturday AM and then a cut. Sunday's VibrAM Finals will be at the Maple Hill Golds.

Players Cup - World Match Play Championship

The World Match Play Championship takes the world's best players and puts them into a bracketed head to head match play format. It takes them out of their comfort zone and puts the pressure on them to perform. Every shot. Extensive live coverage, Sunday Final four, and an online pick'em bracket.

The Players Cup is turning into something special.

Chains, the movie

“Chains” is the first definitive documentary on disc golf.  You will hear from and watch the world’s top professional players, and from recreational players of all ages and abilities, and how their lives have been changed by disc golf. We believe this movie may become a seminal moment in the history of disc golf.

Santa Cruz is home to the Disc Golf Association (DGA), the company founded by the inventor of disc golf, the late “Steady Ed” Headrick.  Santa Cruz has produced several world champions and Hall-of-Famers and is home to the legendary DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course, the “Pebble Beach” of disc golf. 

Disc golf is known by many as “the fastest growing sport you’ve never heard of.”  “Chains” is going to change that by showcasing this incredible sport to the mainstream. World premier at 2011 Pro Worlds.
